Charleston Videographers
As you look around on the internet you will find that there are many Videographers that service the Charleston SC area and you may find it overwhelming to find the perfect videographer for your wedding.
Here are some tips that you may want to consider while combing through all of the Charleston Videographers websites.
#1. Request demos from all of the Charleston Videographers that you are considering.
Why do I need a Full Charleston Wedding Video demo? There are a good many wedding video clips on the internet and the price from this particular Charleston Videographer seems good so I don’t necessarily think I need a full demo.
Video is a combination of multiple arts. Visual arts through the filming techniques used, Storytelling arts through the editing skills used and last but definately not least is the art of quality audio capturing techniques.
If any of these arts are not tended to with careful attention then the final production will suffer because of that.
We have seen so many 3 - 4 minute small clips on peoples websites that look pretty decent but then if we actually see a full on production form that same person that piece of work will literally fall apart in many areas. A full wedding production will showcase every weakness and strength that any Charleston Videographer may have.
But one website has a demo piece that has many brides and grooms in it.. If they have done so many charleston weddings they must be skilled.
Clips that showcase many brides and grooms are typically a way that a videographer will mask the many problems that he or she may have. It is SOOOOOO easy to pull 3 - 4 minutes worth of good footage from 20 - 30 different weddings and put together a good short sample clip. The only problems is that during your wedding there will not be 20 - 30 different “takes”. There will only be one chance to capture your Charleston Wedding Memories in a quality and artistic fashion. Make sure you know not only what you are getting but also that you have chosen the absolute best out of all of the many Charleston Wedding Videographers.
#2. Contract… Contact… Contract.
All Charleston Wedding Videographers that you are considering should have a contract. If they cannot produce a contract instantly at the time that you are ready to book this should throw up a huge red flag. Contracts should also details out any aspect of the wedding video production that may have an impact on you. What happens in the event of equipment failure or sickness of the videographer. Any detail that you have concerns over should be covered in the contract and if it is not ask if there is a way to amend the contract.
#3. Equipment.
Many websites tout asking the videographers about equipment. While equipment can play an important role in the production it is not the end all be all. As you carefully look at the full wedding video productions that you have requested from all of the Charleston Videographers you are considering make sure to look at the picture and audio quality. Is it acceptable?? If yes then the equipment that particular person uses should be satisfactory.
#4. Who will film the event and who will edit the event.
Many companies employ multiple videographers and multiple editors. If the company you are looking at using has multiple shooters and or editors demand to see a demo of the filming work that that person that is filming your Charleston Wedding has done, and also some editing work that the person that is editing your video has done.
About our filming and editing practices.
We do have one employee that assists us with editing and Marianna and I are at every event doing the filming work. Our editor is briefed on every detail and aspect of the wedding before she begins any editing work and then her work is actually finalized and critiqued by Marianna and I before being handed to back to the bride and groom.
